A semi-automatic carton strapping machine is a cost-effective packaging solution designed to secure corrugated boxes, bundles, and packages using plastic straps (usually polypropylene/PP). It bridges the gap between slow manual strapping and fully automated conveyor lines.
How It Works
-
Manual Placement: An operator places the carton onto the machine's flat stainless steel tabletop.
-
Feed Strap: The operator manually pulls the plastic strap over the top of the box and inserts the strap tip into a slot on the machine.
-
Automated Cycle: The machine automatically pulls the strap tight (tensioning), heat-seals the ends together, cuts the strap, and advances the next length of strap for the next box.
Key Benefits
-
Cost Efficiency: Significantly cheaper initial investment than fully automatic arch/bridge strapping machines.
-
Versatility: Accommodates a wide range of box sizes without needing automatic arch adjustments—if the package fits on the table, it can be strapped.
-
Improved Throughput: Speeds up packing compared to hand-tensioning tools, averaging 1.5 to 3 seconds per strap cycle.
-
Consistent Load Integrity: Ensures uniform tension and reliable heat welding, preventing packages from opening or shifting during transit.
